Book Discussion - Every Day Justice

JOIN A BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

WHEN: Sunday March 10th at 2pm
WHERE:  Sue Fabian's Home (Royal Oak)

Everyday Justice: The Global Impact Of Our Daily Choices seeks to aid us in understanding the end-of-the-line consequences of our daily consumer choices. Eye-opening it is to learn that buying coffee that isn't "fair trade" empowers multinational profit-making at the expense of exploited coffee bean farmers who can't even earn enough to support their own families. The same could be said for what brand of chocolate or brand-name clothes we buy. The book takes a "help thy neighbor" view of being conscious of how and where we spend our money. We never think about the consequences of our consumerism. We never think about "voting with our dollar." While the author often takes a religious ethical stand that may ruffle some, it does offer a comprehensive treatment of an important subject--how we can all make the world a better place by simply consciously spending our money, and spending it wisely. Email Sue Fabian to RSVP and get directions. Sue can be reached at suenq@aol.com.
